12/06/19- New Members Induction Session, 11am-1pm (€60 for 6 months membership)
The Core has a membership programme where young musicians can avail of our rehearsal/recording facility, be introduced to a community of young creatives and get discounted access to all of our activities. In order to become a member, young musicians must fully attend an induction session. These inductions currently happen on a monthly basis. For a full list of membership benefits please click here
18/06/19– Jamming Workshop, 11am-2pm, €10 / €5 (members)
This workshop is open to all instruments, singers and genres. Young musicians of various levels will have the opportunity to hang out, play music together in a group, engage in improvisation and work alongside professional musicians from the Music Generation Mayo tutor panel in a relaxed and encouraging environment! All instruments, singers and genres welcome!
19/06/19- Drumming & Industry Clinic with Micheál Quinn (Dermot Kennedy) 1pm, €20 / €15 (members)

We are delighted to have Dermot Kennedy’s drummer Micheál Quinn in for an industry clinic. The clinic will consist of performances, demonstrations, drumming technique, song arrangement process along with stories from the studio and life on the road as well as insights into working in the music industry on an international level. There will also be a Q&A for participants.
20/06/19– Blues, Jazz & Trad Fusion Workshop with Ciara O’Donnell and Mervyn Sayers, 11am-2pm, €15/ €10
In this workshop participants of various abilities will have the opportunity to learn about blues, jazz and traditional Irish forms and how they can blend together to form a musical fusion. Working alongside professional musicians from the Music Generation Mayo tutor panel, participants for example will take a traditional irish song, “Bluesify” it and vice versa! All instruments and singers welcome!
25,26 & 27/06/19– Summer Camp with Billow Wood,11am-2pm daily, €50 / €40 (members)

03 & 04/07/19– “Found Sounds” Electronic Music Production Camp with CreateSound.ie, Day 1- 12 til 3pm, Day 2- 11am til 2pm, €40 / €35 (members)

Produce your own electronic music using production software Ableton Live and state of the art equipment with a professional music producer from the CreateSound team. On this camp there will be a focus on found sounds where we will make music from natural and manmade sounds created from our surrounding environment! This will suit all levels. All equipment provided.
16/07/19– World Percussion Workshop with Ruach Rhythms, 11am-2pm, €15/10 (members)

Young musicians of all abilities are invited form a drum circle with facilitator Debbie Beirne. Participants will have the opportunity to play in a large ensemble, try out various world percussion instruments and even create rhythms with found objects! This a very therapeutic and fun experience for any young person with an interest in music. You haven’t lived until you have let off some steam in a drum circle! Come along and join the fun.
17/07/19– Band & Industry Clinic: The Deans (Paris, FR), 11am til 2pm, €20/15 (members)
Originally from Ireland The Deans have been based in France for the past few years. They have both toured and recorded internationally and have been revered by juggernaut artists such as Iggy Pop and Tom Waits. They are set to release their latest record which was recorded by Steve Albini (Nirvana, In Utero) and mastered at the world famous Abbey Road Studios. At this clinic, young musicians will gain an insight into the inner workings of a band covering everything from the creative process, to the equipment used and everything in between. This is an absolute must for any musician looking for an insight into a bands world and learn from real working artists.
18/07/19– Makin’ Muzik DJ Workshop with Jim Mulroy, 11am-2pm, €20 / €10 (members)
The key aim of a Makin’ Muzik workshop is to champion music and its positive effects on young people. The Makin’ Muzik DJ Workshop gives participants an introduction into the World of the Club DJ where participants get to try their hands at scratching & mixing using both traditional turntables and CDJ players. All equipment provided.
30/07-01/08/19– Genre Jam- Summer Camp– 11am-2pm daily, €50 / €40 (members)
Discover your own musical style through learning new musical genres. Participants, in groups will have the opportunity to work alongside 2 professional musicians from the Music Generation Mayo panel to discover the inner workings of genres including Pop, Rock, Jazz, Blues Reggae and Ska. This practical, hands on camp is open to all levels and instruments. The more the better!
