The Core Open Mic is back!!!!
I am super excited to welcome young performers to our open mic on Tuesday October 22nd at 6pm. Our open mic is all about nurturing young musicians in our community. The vibe is super friendly, positive, relaxed and encouraging! Young people are given a platform to perform and share their music. Performers aged 12-18 (of all genres) are welcome to participate or even just come along, hang out and support other young musicians.
Over the years, many young people have had their first taste of live performance and have gone on to perform at our annual showcases, festival stages and beyond. I’m a firm believer that a gig is worth a thousand rehearsals and it is fantastic way to learn, develop and hone your craft. Do it amongst your peers who are all in the same boat and are supporting one another in the process. We have had all sorts of music from trad to rap, classical to pop and rock to country. Everyone is welcome!
The open mic is hosted on the mezzanine of Ballina Arts Centre and has very chilled out, café like atmosphere. If you or your friend would like to perform please register here to avoid disappointment. Click here to register

The Saturday Open Sessions continues this Saturday 12th October from 12.00-13.30.
Meet like minded teenage musicians, Hang out, jam and make new friends at our Saturday Open Sessions. It is great for anybody considering membership and would like to get a feel for The Core. These sessions are also €free for for members!!

The Core- Production Camp.
July 29th –Aug 2nd
10.00-16.00, €110 / €79 members
Teenage Bands/artists have the opportunity to submit a demo to be considered for full production and will have a professionally recorded, mixed and mastered track ready for release on Spotify.
There will be space for 1 band and 5 extra participants. We will go into step by step detail of the recording and production process and all participants will assist in the engineering process and contribute either musically or technically or both. The selected act will leave with a professionally mixed and mastered finished product.
This is an intensive camp. Participants will be expected to contribute and there will be a lot of work involved. This is an exciting opportunity for a young band or any young person who wishes to acquire an immersive learning experience and gain a real insight into modern day recording and production.

Amplify Youth is an open music showcase presented by The Core, Music Generation Mayo at Ballina Arts Centre on Friday, May 10th 2024 at 8pm . The event is part of Féile Mhaigh Eo and the stage is open to bands, groups, duos and solo performers (aged 12-18) of all genres of music.
If you would like the opportunity to perform at Amplify Youth, we are inviting submissions of an audio/video recording of your act for consideration. Register by clicking here
