The Core is a resource and creative hub for young musicians aged 12-18. It is run under the auspices of Music Generation Mayo and housed within the Ballina Arts Centre.
This inspiring and uplifting documentary, filmed between September 2018 and August 2019, follows young Mayo musicians at various stages of their musical journey, from learning an instrument right through to performing to an audience of thousands.
The documentary also highlights how The Core has impacted the local community, inspired a generation of young songwriters and spring-boarded a countywide music scene. The documentary is being screened for the very first time as part of the Ballina Fringe Festival.
